Who We Are

HOW YOU CAN HELP

James 2:17 - "Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."

Turning Point Missions thrives because of faithful partners like you who believe in bringing both physical and spiritual water to the people of Haiti. Here are some ways you can help:

  • Pray: Cover our team, projects, and Haitian communities in prayer.
  • Give: Every dollar makes a difference! Donate toward pump repairs, well drilling, filtration systems, or Bible distribution.
  • Go: Consider joining a mission team to witness and participate in God's work firsthand.
  • Share: Spread the word about TPM’s work by sharing our mission with friends, churches, and organizations.

With your support, we can continue to change lives through clean water and the love of Jesus Christ. Thank you for being a part of this incredible mission!

Why Haiti?

Colossians 3:23 - “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.”

When we need a glass of water in the United States, we simply turn on the tap. Unfortunately, this is not the reality for millions of people around the world. More than 800 million people worldwide lack access to clean water, leading to deadly waterborne diseases.

Shockingly, over 1,000 children die every hour due to preventable, water-related illnesses.

Haiti is one of the hardest-hit nations:

  • 8 million Haitians (out of 11 million total) have no access to clean water.
  • 1 in 8 Haitian children die before the age of five, largely due to waterborne diseases.
  • Nearly 60% of the Haitian population lives on less than $1 per day.

Haiti needs your help. Clean water is life itself in Haiti, as Pastor Judelin Joseph says. Through your support, we can bring hope and health to communities that desperately need it.

Mission & Vision

Mission Statement Introduction:

At the heart of everything we do is a deep commitment to making a difference. Our mission isn’t just words on a page—it’s the guiding force behind every decision, every action, and every effort we put forth. We believe in creating real impact, fostering meaningful relationships, and continuously striving for excellence. This mission is more than a goal; it’s a promise to our community, our team, and those we serve.

Vision Statement Introduction:

We dream big because we believe in the power of possibility. Our vision is a reflection of our hopes for the future—one where innovation, integrity, and compassion drive us forward. It’s not just about where we are today, but where we’re going and how we’ll get there together. With every step we take, we move closer to a world shaped by our values and aspirations.

Mission Statement: Turning Point Missions exists to bring the Good News of the Living Water of Jesus Christ to the people of Haiti and beyond. We reflect God’s love through our prayers, our presence, and the provision of clean drinking water to those in need.

Vision Statement: By 2030, with God’s help, Turning Point Missions will change the culture of the Nord District of Haiti by installing water filter systems, repairing or replacing broken hand pumps, and drilling new wells, thereby providing fresh, safe drinking water while introducing people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

About Us

Turning Point Missions, Inc.: Why and How We Started

During the early fall of 2011 Mark Wybenga and Tom Doane were working together on a residential renovation project, when the discussion turned from construction details to mission outreach. It progressed quickly to the the question of “ how do we continue to do the residential construction we enjoy, while funding the mission work we both want to be involved with”? This discussion eventually lead to the formation of Turning Point Missions, Inc. - a non-profit corporation.
Turning Point Missions, Inc. is a faith based organization committed to bringing the “Good News of the Living Water of Jesus Christ” to the people of Haiti, and areas of Central and South America. We strive to reflect our love for Christ by providing employment for individuals who are unemployed and/or under-employed and by providing desperately needed clean water to those who do not have it.

Turning Point Missions, Inc. was formed in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the West Michigan area continues to be the center point of our home renovation work. We began purchasing houses, renovating them and then selling them with the profit from the sale funding our mission trips. This source of revenue remains the baseline means of funding our mission outreach.

Our initial mission trips were to the Dominican Republic working with Worldwide Christian Schools, followed by trips to the Cap-Haitien area of Haiti where Tom had volunteered previously with Living Water International. Haiti remains the primary focus of our current outreach work. It is hoped that with the completion of this website we can begin to develop outside contribution sources who will take an interest in what we are trying to accomplish in Haiti and join us in our work there and elsewhere.

Turning Point Missions, Inc. is a faith based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to bringing the “Living water of Jesus Christ” to the people of Haiti, areas of Central and South America, as well as right here in West Michigan. We strive to do so through a two-pronged approach:

  1. The hiring of unemployed and underemployed individuals to participate in the renovation of homes, the profits of which are used to fund our Haiti Missions. One hundred percent (100%) of the profits from the sale of our homes, as well as donated funds go toward our Haiti outreach.
  2. Providing desperately needed clean drinking water to villages in need by constructing water filtration systems.

Because volunteers perform all of our management and administrative functions, we are able to keep administration costs to a minimum. We hope you’ll consider partnering with us to accomplishing these goals.
